This week we talked more about related rates and different problems that goes along with them. The derivative of certain values played a way bigger role in these problems. We also revisited finding the derivative of y based on x. It was pretty much the same except we are now allowed to separate dy/dx by multiplying dx to the other side. I guess I always assumed that you could split them up but now I know for sure. On the related rates quiz I did alright and felt decently comfortable throughout the quiz. I got the cone one wrong because I solved for dr/dx for some stupid reason instead of dh/dx. I had that lightbulb moment and everything. Ohhhh, I'm looking for the water level derivative. This makes sense. Fun fact, the radius of a cone has no correlation with the height of a cone. (Thanks BPA hangover!!!!) Overall I have most of the concepts down. I lost half points here and there because I failed to notice ninja periods and failed to derivative apparently. Didn't look at that one too clearly. I'll mastery it later. I used this video to study and also posted it to your blog. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZWQv7IkTzQ.
Overall I feel like I am well prepared for this test. I understand the concepts and am just working out all of the kinks. I enjoyed the pancake party. That was cool that we could do that. I looked at the Alma math challenge and it looked very easy. I plan on doing it and uploading it soonish.
